Vermont State Craft Center (VSCC): A craft gallery or craft center, or education center,  that has been awarded designation by the State of Vermont.

Vermont State Craft Center Designation: A designation for a craft gallery or craft center, or an education center, approved by the State of Vermont and awarded as the result of an application and approval process and recommendation by the Standards Group to the Vermont State Craft Center Overview Commission.

Vermont State Craft Center Network: A dynamic network of Vermont State Craft Centers that may collaborate on matters common to all, including but not limited to outreach and promotion, education, marketing and sales.

Vermont State Craft Center Overview Commission (VSCCOC): A commission, appointed by the Governor, comprised of representatives from various state agencies and the crafts community to oversee the Standards Group's designation and jury process and make final decisions regarding State Craft Center status.

Standards Group: An advisory committee that is comprised of elected members of the Vermont crafts community of craft artists, educators, or retailers. The Standards Group is convened by the Vermont State Craft Center Overview Commission to implement the application and renewal procedure and the execution of jury review, while concurrently evaluating applicants for designation.

Jury Panel: A group of volunteer representatives from Vermont’s craft community that the Standards Group will convene to evaluate each applicant site, craft center, gallery and/or education center.

Jury Pool: Volunteer representatives from Vermont’s craft community who have offered to serve on the jury panel as needed.

Jury Process: The process by which a group of unbiased peers in the crafts community evaluates an applicant for designation as a Vermont State Craft Center Gallery or a Vermont State Craft Education Center.
